Acetyl Fentanyl Chemical

Acetyl Fentanyl Chemical

A fentanyl analog previously undocumented in illicit drug use five times more potent than heroin. Acetyl fentanyl’s enhanced potency has led to a number of reported deaths due to overdose. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends laboratories to provide analytical options for acetyl fentanyl. So as to provide enhanced surveillance for healthcare providers.

Also a synthetic opioid prescribed to treat severe pain.  In recent years there has been a rise in reported cases of abuse of Fentanyl and similar drugs.  Acetyl Fentanyl is an illegal drug which is chemically similar to Fentanyl.  While Acetyl Fentanyl is not as potent as Fentanyl, both are significantly more potent than other common opiates such as Heroin.  Due to their potency, Fentanyl and Acetyl Fentanyl carry a high risk of overdose.  The health risks for drug users are especially high when Fentanyl or Acetyl Fentantyl are mixed with other drugs such as Heroin or Cocaine or taken as a substitute for less potent opiates.  A number of cases or overdose reported with users not realizing exactly what or how much they actually took.

Other analogues of Fentanyl such as Alfentanil and Sufentanil can be abused with dangerous side effects.  Known potent painkillers used as anesthetic during surgery due to the fact that they are fact acting but have shorter lasting effects.  Synthetic opioids such as Fentanyl and Acetyl Fentanyl are not included in most common drug screens.  Requires a test which specifically looks for them to detect if a person has had them in their system.  Fentanyl is typically detectable in urine for 1-2 days after use. But detection times may vary based on a number of factors such as a person’s metabolism. As well as how much they took.
